Very well done. You've managed to control most of the highlights in the fall and you have utilised the convex and concave curves of the rock quite well.

It is quite clear here from the ratings that this is a popular image and I agree, it sort of nice, but.....why do 99.99999% of these image types always have to have a time exposure of the water? My experience is that these images could be far BETTER if an attempt was made at NOT having this type of exposure...just my 2 bits on what is clearly a very cliche style, popular as it is....

Thank you all for comments and ratings. To Tom Miner: it is interesting that you mention Leping Zha's picture, it is very beautiful and it was the first time I have seen the picture of this waterfall, I wanted to go see it ever since. I still happened to get there by chance, I was driving from Canyonlands (pictures will follow) to Bryce and stopped by the new GS-Escalante National park ranger station just to get information for future trips. I remembered to ask where that "waterfall with the beautifully colored wall" was and it turned out that I WAS 15 MILES from the trailhead (it is 3 mile hike one way). So I just

went there instead.

Regarding the "water style": I have certainly done different photos with both versions, with fast exposure and with the long one. It is a personal preference but I like this one the best. I have spend couple of hours at the location, it is just a very nice (and cool comparing to the hike) place and I had to wait until the entire waterfall was in a shade. Since I use digital camera now I have done numerous (about a 100) pictures of the fall. I have waited quite some time to see if I can get more water on the right side but wind started and it was blowing water to the left. I also realized that it is not that easy to

stop it all that much since the minimum ISO for D70 is 200. Thus, even with the maximum depth of the field the correct exposure is still rather short. Another problem was that by whatever reason I have not taken a tripod with me despite the fact that I essentially always carry one so I had to tie a camera to a tree :)

This is one of the prettiest compositions I've seen of Lower Calf Creek! Love it!
