Jacks Valley Barn, Nevada II B&W

What do you think? This is the same image as the previous post ... but I'm trying it in black & white, as suggested by Jen Selwa. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

when i saw this in color, i instantly new this needs to be in B&W. nice capture. i would appreciate if you can give me some thoughts on a similar shot i have.

Great Photo - The contrast, mountain lines, and composition are excellent. The barn and tree jump out of the photo. Very nice.

Definitely works in b&w, Lou Ann. Nice contrast with the tree and roof against the grey background.

I still like it and it is a 6-6 but I like the color version a bit better. Both are very good.

Ooohhh... I do like it! I don't think the sky is too dark! Both of these images are super Lou Ann. The B&W really accentuates the tree. NIce job!

Both versions work for me, but I'm with Peter in bias toward color version.

Lou Ann, I do like both, color and B&W. This one works because of the tree and roof. I like the dark sky. Nice shot either way.

I like the B&W. I think the composition and the typw of subject matter works better with this medium verses color.

Me too, like the color version. The strength of that one is the color of tree and house contrasting the rest of the world. The attached attempts to make a sronger presentation of that element. The alternated version can put the tree in the dead center, as long as the background mountain follows the 1/3 rule.

As a confirmed colour person I am fairly predictable BUT for me the starkness of the landscape suits the B&W.

Works well in B&W! As contrasty as the image was, the thought of turning it to B&W was the first thing that came to mind - an Ansel print, ya know. Lovely!! :)

Personally, I like the color version better, although this is nice too. I usually lean to color though.

Hi Lou Ann, I think this image is very well suited for b&w. . . .you have a nice tonal range and high contrast isolating the subject.
