henrimanguy 0 Posted October 14, 2004 This photo was taken from behind the window pane of the crocodile's cage. The animal was at about two or three meters. With PhotoShop I have enlarged its head in order to make a distortion like if it was taken with a wide angle lens. Do you find it is succeed ? Thank you to rate and comment. Link to comment

jay_philbrick 0 Posted October 14, 2004 I think it did work. Before I read your remarks, I thought it was a wide angle shot. Nice work with the framing too. Good job, Henri. Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted October 15, 2004 Henri, you succeeded in transforming a fierce creature in to a comical and cute character! Well done. ^_^ Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted October 15, 2004 Wilson, if it is comical, then I have fail it. I wanted it looks ferocious and dangerous. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted October 15, 2004 To be clear in my mind, there is the original shot. Perhaps it looks less comical on this one ? Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted October 15, 2004 And while I'm at it, here is a view from top of the same animals. Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted October 16, 2004 I'm so sorry, Henri! I didn't mean to offend at all. ^_^ Let me restate this; you are very successful in simulating a wide angle shot by use of PS. Very well done. Another successful element in helping this image appears more 3 dimensional is the way you have his head and claws overlapped the lower black frame. Cleverly done, Henri. As for the crocodile, I'm afraid that he is just a really happy guy (even in the original photo you've so kindly posted.) Look at that smile on his face! He's probably very well fed and have lots of croc-mates around him to play with. One of the friendliest crocodile I've ever come across. Or may be this is Mona Lisa reincarnation? ^_^ Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted October 18, 2004 Hi wilson! I am not offended at all. You are right to find that the crocodile is comical. After all, it is possible, with its big head and a so small body. Perhaps a true wide angle will not produce the same effect. Anyway, it is sure that it was not terrifying... But I would'nt have liked to be in the cage. Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted October 20, 2004 Yeah, photo alone is good, no need to loose those fingers for the camera. ^_^ Link to comment
lucyhollis 2 Posted October 30, 2005 At first I thought this was a straight shot with a wide angle lens. But I thought, I know I wouldn?t get that close to that jaw just for a pic, and I?m not too sure how many other poeple would either. Then I saw your explanation photos. So you do have some sanity! And fingers left too. Link to comment
