Olive, once again.

Just scanned, I'm still trying to figure out how the Epson scanner

works in combination with silverfast software.

I think that this is one of the nicer portraits I've seen in a while. Texture is great. Natural.

This is a really good portrait.

You do really great character portraits and this is my favorite of all, very nice work. Thanks for checking out portfolio 3, I'm glad you dig it...

Good composition, character and colors. Really fine work.

Actually, I find the colors very, very flat. The subject is not really set apart from the background and there's a green/blue tint giving an abnormal skin color. The lighting is also from a difficult direction, causing an area of overexposure on one side of the girl's face and underexposure on the other side of the face and in the chin area. Some supplementary lighting or perhaps turning into the source of light would have made a great difference.

John, I hear you loud and clear but I think all the reasons you gave make this a nice portrait, different and unique.

Its a beautiful face, so I think having the skin color fixed would actually enhance the image...

I came back to this image after some time quite disappointing in the lack of interest folks have expressed in the overall folder and its excellent content. Mediocrity and kitsch are too dominant, forcing better images like these into lower categories where the viewing volume drops..
