shambrick007 0 Posted October 9, 2004 Damn! That's that best digital B&W I've ever seen!! Please elaborate on your technique! Link to comment
sef1664877429 0 Posted October 9, 2004 Now this I like, detail, exposure, tones, and a good balance of water and stone. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted October 9, 2004 Stephen and Sheldon, thanks for your comments. We had driven 100 miles to this place and I had forgotten my polarizer, so I was concerned about glare on the rocks. Waited til the sun dropped behind the hill and hoped for the best. The conversion to b&w was through desaturation to about 15% (can't remember exactly) and a touch of lightening on the midtones and hilights. That's about it. It's always a bit of trial and error for me because my PS knowledge is minimal. Link to comment

hanna_cowpe 0 Posted October 10, 2004 Thanks Brad. It's that time of year again, when the west coast gets its annual soaking. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted October 10, 2004 As above - a really successful bit of b&w. Link to comment
cjrupp 0 Posted October 11, 2004 Very well done Hanna. Love the mood the black and white gives. Link to comment
juanriera 0 Posted November 8, 2004 I have always loved water falling among the stones and did many b&w on it, 5x7 work. This one seems a good big 5x7 plate. Excellent tones and composition. Link to comment
billfoster 0 Posted November 13, 2005 Just about perfect. Exposure was just right and since there are no plants about, it's perfect for the b&w. I have to try this now! Link to comment
