Guest Guest Posted October 7, 2004 The contrast between the golden ground and the stormy sky is a well chosen feature. The diagonal rainbow complemented by the diagonals created by the power lines added more "stress" to the situation created by the storm..If there's any improvements to suggest, it will be the wooden pole which needs some burning in to do to tame the highlights. Thanks for sharing. Enjoyable view! Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted October 7, 2004 Thanks, Arthur, for the comments and suggestion. I just uploaded a more "tamed" version. Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted October 19, 2004 I don't normally go for powerlines, but in this case I think it is fitting. Thanks, for any comments. Link to comment
Roy-photos 0 Posted October 19, 2004 Aaron, great composition of clours and objects. I really like the fact that the rainbow is acting a nice background, and does not compete with the strong foreground lines. 7/6 Link to comment
gabrielma 0 Posted October 22, 2004 I hate powerlines!! I've always considered cities with excessively intrusive open-air powerlines as lacking in self-esteem.I've always wanted to find a good use for them in my shots. This is absolutely well done!! I'm rather jealous. Excellent anchoring everywhere. Was the rainbow really there, or is that some extra PS spice? Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted October 22, 2004 How dare you even suggest such a thing!?!? Lol! No, it is completely natural. Link to comment
simanta 0 Posted November 4, 2004 This, in my opinion, is the best on your portfolio. A gramatically and visually perfect composition, couldn't have been better... I really have no word expressing how much I like this photo.. Link to comment
k2photo 0 Posted November 16, 2004 Don't know why I like it, but I do. Very good job! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted November 24, 2004 Praise the Lord for comments. I always thought rainbow was a ps add in so gave it a 5/5 without comment...highly insulting to this pic and totally ashamed for not asking before..but its hard to ask in these days of manipulation paranoia, glad someone else did. It was a case of too much to be believed from here. Even though misenterpreted as a fruity ps shot it rated a 5/5 just on the mastery of the framing. Exceptionaly well composed this is. It really transmits (he) the essence of Alberta well. Take it to Ralph Aaron, should be a print in his office. Humbly upgrading to 7/7 Link to comment
James Kazan 17 Posted March 10, 2005 Aaron, Gee this is a very underrated photo - 7/7 to my eyes. I like how the power lines run through this. Link to comment
andrew ren 0 Posted March 30, 2005 that's one of my favourites, a little bit overexposed?I mean the grass. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted February 25, 2006 Sugoi! Wunderbar! Amazing! One of my all-time favorites. I'm going to rate this (something I rarely do) just so I can have it in my "favorites" list. Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted February 26, 2006 Jack, thanks. I rarely rate anymore, and if I do it is for precisely that reason. cheers, Aaron Link to comment
