lancemcvay 1 Posted October 4, 2004 I took this picture this morning while with my kids on a cub scouts' campout. Any thoughts on this photo or ways it could be improved? Link to comment
peter_rymkiewicz 0 Posted October 4, 2004 nice photo... I might try a tighter crop on the upper left corner. Link to comment
bklimowski 0 Posted October 4, 2004 Wonderful capture of mood and texture - nice! This works very well. I think the foreground trees at the bottom are a bit distracting, and might prefer a simpler composition with the trees cropped out. Good work, Lance. Link to comment
orion 0 Posted October 4, 2004 Except for the trees in the foreground it`s a wonderful photo Link to comment
lancemcvay 1 Posted October 4, 2004 Thanks for the responses. I actually have already cropped quite a bit out of the foreground, and also tried other crops with the trees completely taken out, but to retain the 4:3 ratio and preserve the sense of openness, I chose the cropping as is. Here is the same photo cropped simply to remove the trees. The length:width is now 2:1. While I do prefer the photo, I generally limit myself to fairly close to the same ratio as the camera captured. Do you all do this also, or is that much of a consideration when editing? Link to comment
