Midnight reflections

This is taken in remote Spitzberg island, in the most gorgeous of the

midnight suns... but I am not terribly pleased with the result: there

is something to it that seems to be missing, it might be due to my

composition or to the crop: could you help me out?

Very nice image - your use of heavy black matting is not sympathetic to subject.

I would keep the 10x15 original format ... But I would certainly crop out the left mountain. It does not bring much to the comp.

I prefer the original image becouse the cropped first plane gives an atmosphere sauvage and primordial.

When I view this image, I'm very happy for you for having the opportunity to visit such a remote place, far from civilization.

You have certainly captured the gist of the landscape that resembles the Alaskan one here in the U.S. Great light and composition.

 

I only wished you had taken a series of 3-4 shots and stitch them up for a long panorama print. Would you consider that for future trips?
