Guest Guest Posted September 30, 2004 I think this is a wonderful picture. If I were to say anything, it would be that I would like to see the flag just a tiny bit, no forget it its good. There is a maturity about this series that I havent seen before. Its serious stuff eh? Link to comment
tango_elturco 0 Posted September 30, 2004 This image conveys the its message very good. But I would love to see flag a little more clearly so message would hit quicker without making me trying to understand what the person tearing off (it took only a fraction of second but ...) Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted September 30, 2004 Tiffany, I have had another look at this. It is a very good picture. I assume its political. The tension in the hands at the point of ripping the flag off works really well. This is the best picture I have seen of yours. Link to comment
rascal64 9 Posted October 1, 2004 Thank you and thank you again for coming back. Your comments mean a lot to me. And Mr Ashcroft....if you are out there, I'd like to hear from you, too. Link to comment
slewisphoto 0 Posted October 7, 2004 Your Picture Works... its hard to know though... hard to exisist in. it is emotionaly deep, I'm feeling it Link to comment

johncrosley 0 Posted November 13, 2004 I can only come away from viewing your biographical photo, the comments under it, and your various photos with the feeling that you feel or experience things very intensely, and this image certainly exemplifies that. Although I am not sure exactly what (if any) the political point is (wrapped in the flag?) the technical and artistic elements are superb, and the side lighting is very dramatic. Your lighting is something to either hate or love (or sometimes the same from one image to the next) but in this instance it definitely is something to LOVE). And the grip, is as though the flag is slipping away. What will be left if the grip slips away? Why the tight grip? Is that the message? Did the events of the election cause embarrassment to this subject? Yours is a provocative image which brings a multitude of questions -- and for that I can only say Bravo! John Link to comment
johncrosley 0 Posted November 13, 2004 Replaced, it seems, by the man who said 'torture is OK so long as it doesn't cause death or major organ failure', 'the Geneva Conventions don't apply to various classes of people', withheld evidence of innocence from Gov. Bush when sentence communtation was available as death sentences came up for review, etc. (His death sentence memoranda for Gov. Bush have been reviewed.) Is she tearing the flag off, or keeping it from being torn off? This image is one of many that are VERY POWERFUL, aided by lighting that is among the most dramatic in Photo.net. John Link to comment
rascal64 9 Posted November 13, 2004 Thanks for stopping by, John. I always appreciate your insight. In the presentation version of this folder, this one is called "Betrayal". Still leaving it up to the viewer, take this scenario. If you found out that your lover was cheating on you, would your anger be more directed at your lover? Or the person who slept with your lover? christos 0 Posted November 15, 2004 personally.. i would love to have a lover first... one who is going to stay that long enough with me, that would make it possible to feel betrayed when (she) goes with someone else... just a thought... ok.. a kind of allegory too and a 'slight' personal sarcasm... rascal64 9 Posted November 15, 2004 are we still discussing patriotism? If not, maybe this is the more pertinent image http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=1800449 Link to comment
leepix 0 Posted November 19, 2004 Such an elegant and simple vision, though it evokes a complex set of feelings. Very good! 7/7/ from my side. I am doing a flag series as well. Not ready to post. But your shots give me inspiration. Thanks. Lee Mclaughlin Link to comment
rascal64 9 Posted November 19, 2004 Thank you for stopping by. And thank you for your words (and numbers!) That is really cool that you are doing a series. I can't wait to see it. Please let me know when you post them, so I don't miss it. Link to comment
