I can't find a balance in this one. Comments appreciated. You may

need to steady your eyes after viewing this too long.

TC, this is a strange and intriguing shot (more so since I shot some apple trees this weekend, too). I like the colors, especially the luminous apple.

I don't care for the modifications you made to this photograph. The photograph is highly abstract, lacks much detail and has been used to only a handful of colors.

I appreciate both of your comments, Robert and Sam.

I have a difficult time looking at this long because it hurts my eyes and my mind. I don't know why the effects are affecting me in such a manner. The colors are very basic, which is one of the things I found interesting when I first looked at it. But, for me, the light and shadow was what it had going for it. So, I got the bright idea to apply two different filters to the shot. Thus creating an abstract.

Not such a hot idea on this one, huh? :-)

MY EYES! FIX MY EYE'S!

I like the simplicity of the colors and the isolation of the apple. I'm not sure what other filter you used but the motion blur takes away from the image in my opinion. Have you ever played around with the smart blur in photoshop? Obviously I can't see the original to know for sure whether the smart blur is appropriate but I've played with that filter on numerous occasions and been happy with the results. Just my opinions though, take them as you will.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm....smart blur? That is the one filter I didn't use. I will try it on the original to see if it alleviates the visual defect I've created by using the motion and gaussian blur. (don't do that, if you're ever considering mixing blurr's.) ;-)

Using standard Photoshop filters produces standard effects. I'd avoid using filters unless you are using them in unique ways or in combination with at least a few other filters. Use filters as a tool not as a creative crutch.

Thank you, Ilkka! I agree with your modification. Does the blurring bother your eyes when you look at it?
