Nice to see there are still some film users around. Exposure could use some tinkering. Maybe composition needs work. But great way to capture that moment.

Michael,

Yeah, at first I wanted to clean it up, and tried tweaking the contrast, making it level, cropping, etc., but finally I decided it works best as a loose, dark, slanted kind of shot -- I guess it suits the subject matter.

I found Edmo's comment that it has soul fitting; when I first saw it a religious ritual came to mind--I can't say why--but somehow it seems as if he has found his own personal Ganges River.

It looks to me like a Tom Waits song protagonist...

Nothing offensive in this photography when it comes from the heart..

Ciao!

Gabriele, that's exactly what I thought -- Tom Waits is about my favorite artist ever. Coney Island is mentioned in his songs a lot, actually.

Agree, very Tom Waits, especially the birds and the carnival rides in the background. I listen to Bone Machine all October long. Anybody heard the new album?

"I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy." (Tom Waits)

And you've found another guy who, if he stops to think about it, would probably agree.

I like the photo.
