Thank you both for your comments... I personally like this photo, but the ratings have been very low... So thank you again for taking the time to view it and add you words of encouragement. -Norman

Baseball is actually pretty tough to shoot. I do know a little about this, since it is what I do mostly shoot. Many people don't like baseball #1. Too slow, they say. Well Baseball is a thinking man's game. Peak action is the "Great" shot for most, but the subtle shot is in truth what a real fan loves to see. The frustration might have been better shown here if the pitcher was rubbing the ball between pitches and turned toward the outfield. Facial expressions are best for showing "the pressure" of the situation. They look a little down, instead of in a pressure packed 13th inning of a game in the finals. Still, I can see where you were going with this and I have enjoyed seeing your work with the game. Ratings be damned, ha ha. I am sure you knocked your friend over with these shots and in truth, that is what you were trying to do anyway. Congrats.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. It was my first time shooting this type of stuff and I guess because I don't know the intricacies of baseball as well as I do Formula One racing, I don't know how to anticipate the action shots as well. With this shot, I saw something and decided to go with my idea where the players are sort of anynomous especially with the 3rd baseman not only looking down, but blurred in the DOF as well. It was a tense moment and was taken just before the last pitch of the game! I thought the B&W arrangement added a bit more punch and nostolgia to the shot and went with my gut. Thanks again for the kind words.

Nice shot in the attachment BTW. -NP

Thank a lot buddy. But I have to say.. It's the work and comments of photographers like you that really do keep me going. It's one thing to be inspired to create but another quite another to get feedback from their peers. I feel this feedback has helped me to look outside of my own passions such as F1 and motorsport photography to seek out entirely different subject matter and have the courage to post it. Thanks again.
