I was looking admiring the b&w version, never realizing this existed..missed it. Fine pic either way but my pref was for the bw and im a colour guy so wondered why and messed with this a little. I think the frame detracts its too fat...changed just that size seqentialy till the effect of the flower jumping out got refined...and ran auto colour balance..one pass 30 strength..remove cast. Thats it..sometimes works on velvia sometimes not but tends to give a truer rendition of the slide..see what you think, not sayin its better.

Its a beautiful creation and just the frame size alone seems to make the flower flow into the viewer...dang now its on my desk eek.

There is a slight cast here, but the flower was, in fact, very magenta. The frame is a direct result of a print I did to fit an 8x10 screen; I no longer do them like this.

Aaron - I like this color rendition better than the duotone. To me it feels like a ballet with all the dancers about to burst into action. Good job. I like the frame. My object is to produce photos to display in frames on somebody's wall and find good framing adds to the pic. - Irv

Thanks, Irv. I'm glad you like it. It's funny, it's split almost 50/50 for people who like one or the other. They are very different, though, in tone and mood, and thus what people associate with them.

Aaron

Thanks Carola. I look back at this shot, and I'm always surprised that I took it outdoors in natural light - it has something of a studio look. I'm curious as to what you think of the B+W version? Quite a different feel, I think.

Cheers,

Aaron
