One of the joys of walking/hiking/mountaneering/climbing, is to get

lost into the Infinite which unwinds in front of you... does this

picture convey this concept?

Almost unexplored and definitly unforgiving land of ice and stones, at

a mere 1000km from the North Pole, starts at the horizon in the Kings

Bay -Kongsfjorden- in Spitzberg island.

Ah, I almost forgot, what about the location of the human figure? I

"know" it should not be so dead centre (OK, is a bit to the left) but

when I was shooting it sort of belonged there...

Nice photo-Climer should be in a differnt postion. My eye is drawn to him and does not want to explore tue rest of the photo. otherwise nice play of shadow and light.

I don't mind the person being in the middle, but I'd prefer him/her to be a little further in the shot, closer to the edge of the hill, like sitting on the verge of infinity... Jiri

This works for me. The sweeping motion from left to right draws me into the frame. I like the balance of light and dark areas--skipping from light foreground over the dark middle and into the bright distance--a great use of contrasts.

I also think the centered person works for 2 reasons 1. There is a natural gap in the shape of the landscape in the middle of the frame and 2. It completes the idea that we are sharing this view with someone else. Our vantage point is the same, centered, and it is "comforting" to the viewer.

I believe you've titled this appropriately. Such simplicity in the statement but so vast is the idea of infinite.

Well centered, well focused and excellent idea. "A" for composition and a "A" for creativity.

Looks very cold ;) In all seriousness, a very beautiful shot. I especially like the hiker in the center of the frame. I also like his size being small, as it emphasizes the vastness of the scene in front of him. Something complete out of your control, but I wonder what the shot would have looked like with the clouds on the left side.

I can't get beyond the climber because I can't figure him out. Which way is he facing? Where are his legs? I seem to be missing something. Is he sitting facing away from us with his knees up?

Centered subject is no issue, very beautiful scenery and great colors. The figure is important as scale factor. Maybe it would look fine with the person upright, and more far away

What a gorgeous view you've captured here. I like how you've centered the person in this one--it works perfectly for "the infinite." Compositionally, the right side here is a little too heavy and the ice in the bottom right is a little distracting. Still, this is a very fine landscape.

Very beautiful image! Wow, what a great view the guy enjoys! Great clarity and colours. (Maybe I would prefer him a bit off center).

Grande senso dell'immensitࠥ della solitudine, perfetta nell'inquadratura e molto nitida. Preferisco questa rispetto a quella scattata con il 20 mm. Bravo, 蠵na prova che le belle foto si possono fare anche con la pellicola!!

I'm sure you don't regret the trek, and thanks for bringing your camera along so we can enjoy it too. Plenty of air and space well rendered in your photo.

The position of the seated person is not a problem, in fact I didnt notice that he was centered until reading your comment. Somehow he seems more right of centre. Good balance with the lake on the other side and the shadows filling in what might otherwise be a large expanse of bright stony foreground.
