John Crowe 165 Posted September 21, 2004 May not be "sports" but it is a sportscar! I thought the curvature of the body was appropriate for the superwide angle lens. Let me know what you think! Link to comment
johnpclevenger 0 Posted September 21, 2004 I'm not sure if I like the angle, but others may. You still did a good job. Link to comment
f1-fanatic 0 Posted September 21, 2004 I am drooling.. Awesome pic of the Cobra! My only criticism and that is if I had to make one is that it's a bit underexposed around the car and background. Great subject matter, use of wide angle and aperature and crop. 5/6 Link to comment
John Crowe 165 Posted September 23, 2004 Fred, I think I took one of the "mouth", but I think I ended up with too much "garbage" in the background. I'll check and see. Link to comment
John Crowe 165 Posted September 24, 2004 Yes, I found the slide and just scanned it. Now I remember....I did not like the fact that I did not include the windscreen to complete the idea of showing an automobile and the perspective is screwed up. I was laying on my stomach on the grass with the camera on the ground. I could not get a good view of the viewfinder, so I was not sure exactly what I was getting. I recently used this same technique and found that if I lay on my back with a kink in my neck I can view better upside down, I guess my eyes end up closer to the ground. I have the magnifying viewer and it seems to me it also acts as a 90 degree viewer, I'll have to try that sometime. Link to comment
ajphotography 0 Posted October 2, 2004 Love the angle it is original as a lot me included tend to photograph elevations of the side 45 degree and front. You have added an angle of height to the photo. Nice one. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted October 26, 2004 John, Exaggerating the foreground is exactly where a superwide shines. You do no harm to the look of this car by distorting it's front end through the use of one. The slight underexposure works well here in minimizing the background and saturating the colour of the car. This technique would be more valuable at a car show where there is lots of clutter in the background though, in this case, perhaps not as necessary. I agree with your appraisal of the other shot. It perhaps would benefit from the inclusion of hood scoop and windscreen. The fly in the ointment with that one is the inclusion of part of another car. (a little PS work would fix that though) Good effort and probably worth printing. Best, LM. Link to comment
