jmoody 0 Posted September 22, 2004 Another attempt at macro...any thoughts or comments? Would anyone do anything about the dirt in the water spots, or do they look ok (I'd have rathered if they weren't there, but didn't even really realize till I was back home). Should I attack them with photoshop or...? Thanks ahead of time Link to comment
niranjn 0 Posted October 11, 2004 Well seen. Good use of darkness and light. I like the photo but a couple of points to ponder: (1) The dirt spots don't bother me at all, but the arrangment of water droplets could be a bit more...pleasant and natural. (2) I am sure you experimented with DOF, so I am curious how one with a little less DOF looks. (3) If there had been stronger reflections of the middle row of thorns, it would have been better. Right now, there is just a hint of that going on. (4) Is the lighted portion of the bottom leaf TOO broad? The light is also a bit too flat there and doesn't gel with the light on the top two lighted areas. Nice shot though. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted October 12, 2004 Thanks for the comments (it's hard to get good comments these days!!). I took about 4 of these shots, but really only played with the angle a little...hardly any changes in dof, speed or ISO that I remember. As to the water droplets... that's just the way they were. I truthfully didn't really pay much attention to them till I got home and saw the finished product. Glad you liked it (i'll try to attach one of the other versions in a few minutes). Link to comment
niranjn 0 Posted October 12, 2004 I like the original one better. (I have also edited my first comment a little bit to make it clearer) On a different monitor, I see a lot of background junk. Watch the background! :-) Link to comment
