raywei 0 Posted September 19, 2004 Very nice portrait -- great smile and wonderful pose. Do you remember the WB setting on this one? Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted September 20, 2004 Hi Ray, WB on auto, actually the orginal is a little blue as we were in the shade most of the time and the sun was just rising. I used Adobe CS variation adjustment to get the desired color. Did it turn out OK? Link to comment
raywei 0 Posted September 20, 2004 Yeah, that's what appears to me -- a little blue/greenish. What I found out with D70 is that when I set it on auto, I use custom setting -3 to reduce the color temp so it renders it a bit warmer (lower temp). Nikon engineers design by the numbers like most good engineers do, but as a photographer, I prefer warmer color on people. You have caught the model at a great moment, like you always do, Alex. Great job. Warm regards. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted September 20, 2004 Do you mean Sunlight setting as in (Custom setting 3?) Or some preset mode. I an actually quite happy with the Auto with the 18-70mm Nikkor lens but it doesn't seem to perform as well with Nikkor 50mm 1.8 lens. Perhaps I should use a custom photo fit to balance the exposure. raywei 0 Posted September 21, 2004 You may set -3 for WB at Auto mode. Default is set to 0, but you can do -3, -2, -1, or +1, +2, +3 to off set the Auto setting, or any other setting. To use preset, you need a 18% gray card, and aim it for a few seconds while pressing the WB button down to calibrate the WB. I really like your new outdoor people shots. Regards. By the way, try to take a few shot without Polarizer, and see what happens. I used a 85mm F/1.8 lens on D70 last Sunday on a bridal show and the color came out really amazing. Link to comment
stato19 0 Posted September 25, 2004 Great shot. I even like the background on this one. The image seems alive. Bravo! Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted September 25, 2004 Thanks Chris, William. Ray, I use Auto -3 for Jaslyn's images. It turn out much better. Thanks. Link to comment
