robertbrown 1 Posted September 19, 2004 Comments, ratings appreciated on logging shot--cheap Epson 2450 scanner did some funky stuff to the sky. Link to comment
miguel_garcia_guzman1 0 Posted September 19, 2004 Robert, Nice image. The sky (probably scanning artifact) looks a bit uneven and this affects the viewing of the image. Besides that this is a very fine picture, that works very well in black and white. The Panoramic perspective has strong aesthetics. Very good work. Miguel Link to comment

robertbrown 1 Posted September 20, 2004 Miguel, thanks for your kind comment. Gerry, I hate clear cutting, but it goes on here in the NW all the time. Frequently I go around a bend on a country road and where there was once forest, there's this. I've been shooting these for about two years and a gallery has agreed to do a show next year. I doubt they'll sell. I wouldn't want one of these for my home or office. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted September 21, 2004 Brings back memories of my home for 39 years - British Columbia. It used to bother me so much to see sights like this. There has to be a better way. Now that I'm in S Texas where trees are few and far between, it makes me appreciate them even more! I like your sepia treatment of this - it makes the scene look even more bleak. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 23, 2004 Certainly, this isnt considered a clear cut. There are trees still standing, I see them over yonder. If I was going to hang a photo of a slash pile this would certainly be in the running. Knicki Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted September 30, 2004 Kim and Knicki, thanks for your comments. I'm planning to show these somewhere in the next year or so--but I doubt anybody will want to buy any! Who'd want to display this tragedy on their living room or office wall. Link to comment
