kslonaker 0 Posted September 18, 2004 The sepia was the right choice here. This is almost a little spooky to look at. Reminds me of an abandoned house and finding these objects that have been sitting around for many years. Link to comment
bentes_world 0 Posted September 19, 2004 Thanks for the comment Kim. Yes, the sepia ...guess I can say I'm a little in love in sepia for the time being. About place and thins I can tell you that the place is the barn with good old walls. The stool was once my bedside table and now it being used for allmost everything. The dollhead(made by myself) the wooden horse and the books are often to be found at my bedisde table and the two copper things are as you say found here in hte barn when we moved in. I have been trying to clean one of them but did not succeed so well... and now I like it as it is. I have often been thinking of including the doll head in some photos and I think I'll make some more tryes. Link to comment

1000wordsphotography 0 Posted September 19, 2004 I love the sepia,,, but the doll head scares me. I would be frightened waking to those large eyes I think! I like the folk art feel of this. Link to comment
abintraphoto 0 Posted September 19, 2004 Very cool ............... To be able to convey fear and spookiness thru an image is a talent - yes. Your horse needs a Cowboy ........ methinks. Link to comment
bentes_world 0 Posted September 19, 2004 Regina ... Thanks for stopping by and comment. Some years ago I made this doll head ( I had to learn it so I could use it in my work with kids) First the head is made in a mold and then you have to form the eyes (shape them with a knife) and a last the doll is to be painted. The superstition says that in a handmade doll you can always see some of the personality of the doll creator... so if it's true it's me being scary, anxious, vulnerable and wondering ...Superstition I think. Ken - thanks for the comment, cowboy. I guess that the cowboy not should be Lucky Luke. Can you recomened me a cowboy for my wooden horse? Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted September 20, 2004 Bente, so much talent. Not only are you a great photographer but you are an accomplished doll maker as well. Knowing that these are your personal objects puts an entirely different perspective on this image. It gives it a sense of intimacy instead of spookiness. Very interesting expression on the doll's face. . . perhaps one of puzzlement. I think the sepia toning gives it a sense of timelessness. Very nice. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted September 20, 2004 Bent, That is not a composition for kids....Gives a spooky feeling and alienation. Both version are to my taste. Pnina Link to comment

home page1 0 Posted September 24, 2004 I like the sepia better for this one because it conveys a timeless feel and seems more appropriate for the subject matter. Also find the subject matter to be interesting and convey an antique look and feel. Link to comment
rina 0 Posted May 23, 2006 I also like the sepia tones - here and in general. But your coloured version is also very good. Link to comment
