hanna_cowpe 0 Posted September 16, 2004 Hi Robert, this must be viewed large to get the impact of the foreground. Is that a lavender field? I like the movement of the rows pulling the eye down to the abbey and then beyond into the trees. There is an interesting light effect on the field, a little like a solarization. The image conveys warmth even without colour, probably through the warm toning you have used. It's a relaxing composition and I wouldn't mind spending a day there. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted September 16, 2004 Comments, ratings appreciated on famous abbey, especially on composition and tone. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted September 16, 2004 Hanna, you're absolutely right about the lavender. I was there in June and the lavender wasn't quite in bloom. It was a very strange green that almost glowed. It's a very beautiful spot--one of the most frequently photographed places in France. Link to comment
