salvatore.mele 1 Posted September 13, 2004 ...for this arctic tern to move back south. The last rays of the midnight sun shine on Kongsfjorden, the Kings Bay, on Spitzberg island a 1000 km from the North Pole, and this bird is ready to start its mind bobbling migration south. Following the sun will fly over the atlantic, follow the coast of America or Africa, and make it for another summer close to Antarctica... before coming north again for another summer close to the North Pole... I tried to capture this uniquely beautiful, yet unforgiving, scenery, with such an impressive bird. Did it work? Advices and constructive criticism is much welcome. Thanks a lot, s. Link to comment
fausti 0 Posted September 15, 2004 Great scenery! What if adding more sky? Maybe strong sensation of wilderness with that low clouds. Image bird is small but it gives more feeling of lonelyness. I observed that bird in Norway in august 2000. So wonderful bird and so tough traveler!! Regards Link to comment
photos of hans koot 0 Posted September 17, 2004 Great image, find your upload bit small, wich makes it less easy to judge. there is a lot of loss because of the compression. I guess you have you're reasons for that. Link to comment
