salvatore.mele 1 Posted September 12, 2004 Alec, for once let me be a bit harsh...can I? To me, there are a bit too many subjects here... not all pleasent. The sky is great, in this light, and so are the mountains. Ditto for the green trees... I find disturbing, in such scene, to see 1) the house 2) the road 3) the parked car! Why not shot, then, from the road where the trees are? You would have removed the tree things above, and had your nice green-tree foreground... Was it any possible? Take care, s. Link to comment
kyang 0 Posted September 12, 2004 For your last three work, I maybe comment only on this one. The composition, to me is effective and there is no major weakness except I wish you crop out the road. The cloud is great. Very nice work. Link to comment
john falkenstine 1 Posted September 12, 2004 Alex, you sure are an active photographer, get around a bit, and enjoy taking images. I like the backdrop, but lighting at the top is a bit polarized and like the other notations above, the foreground is a bit strange, especially the totem pole which is "tribally incorrect" for this location in the US. alecee 0 Posted September 13, 2004 Hey guys, thanks for the comment. It was a drive-by and there was nothing fancy to use as a foreground except for the house. Thus a quick shot and we're off again. Just love the scenery and captured it for memory and like to share with all at photo.net. (",) Link to comment
rkynast 1 Posted September 13, 2004 I have been through Zion NP and you have captured it well. I have wondered about that totem pole, too, but not enough to stop and ask the owner. I am jealous about the sky here; very nice work. Regards, Richard Link to comment
amanda mumma 0 Posted September 14, 2004 but to me the house and car set this apart from your run of the mill landscape shot. It adds humanity to an amazing scene. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted September 14, 2004 WOOOOOO HOOOOO ... I love this!! I need to go out west again really soon!!!!! Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted September 15, 2004 Right on Amanda, Lou Ann. We don't see many red bitumen roads around Asia at all. So it's special enough to include and show the Americana way of living! (",) Link to comment
