salvatore.mele 1 Posted September 10, 2004 In remote Spitzberg island, 1000km from the north pole, north of Norway, sits a small community of scientists studying the arctic environment. In summer, the temperature of the sea, littered with icebergs, is just above freezing, therefore the boat rides which come with the research projects cannot be tackled unless properly insulated, and those survival drysuits serve the scope. Between rides, they are thrown away onto a small trailer, and they gave me, even in the warm midnight-sun light, a very distrurbing feeling of discarded corpses as they retain a very antropomorphic shape. Your opinions are welcome! Link to comment

kyang 0 Posted September 11, 2004 Salvatore, first thanks your time on my work. Really appreciate it. Also I like many of your work, and the subject is kind of my favorite. Disturbing? No, your note with the very sharp work really make it very interesting. I notice you use FM2 and I start to use FM after three year's using F80. The scan quality is so good when thinking about the negative. The detail and the color are ideal. I use 50mm quite often too. Overall this is great documental work. I really wish you try wide angle including more surrounding to make a quite different work. Link to comment
blago 0 Posted September 13, 2004 It's an interesting shot, Salvatore. Beautiful light and precise exposure. Could be a nice addition to a presentation of your mountains trips. I wonder how it'd like if you move the vehicle a bit to the right. So the viewer could see a bigger portion of the beautiful background. Or if we see the arms of a man pushing the vehicle. But it's a nice and HQ picture as it is. Regards. Blago Link to comment
