davidmccracken 2 Posted September 8, 2004 A friend told me when I took href=http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2607379> 'M I R A G E' that he would have preferred it 'without cloth.' You can now judge for yourself. Which is better? Feedback appreciated. Link to comment
john_bourgon 0 Posted September 8, 2004 A white framed shot with no discernable shape? Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted September 8, 2004 That's the idea. Please read the title..... it may help you understand what I was trying to achieve! Thanks for looking! Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted September 8, 2004 I like it. It's effective and evocative. I wonder, though, if the pose in the original photo might have worked better than this, sans the cloth of course. We could debate the effect of the pubic hair here; that's why I'd like to see the original pose. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted September 8, 2004 Yes Mark! You understand why this was taken at this angle perfectly. You didn't say which one you preferred. Thanks for looking. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted September 8, 2004 It just occurred to me that my friend would probably prefer this in black and white. Link to comment
owen_omeara 1 Posted September 8, 2004 David: Who was the friend you mentioned? In any event, it is superb and has inspired me. More later. -Owen Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted September 8, 2004 If you click on the word 'friend' in my comment above yours...... all will be revealed! Link to comment
joao sa 0 Posted September 8, 2004 Hi David, I prefer the MIRAGEIt looks more sensual and the blue make it more appealing. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted September 8, 2004 Joao / Knicki. It is interesting that you should both comment consecutively. If looking at the colour version, I would have to say I prefer the 'M I R A G E' too. However, if looking at all the versions then I would have to agree with Knicki. Please don't tell Owen. I would hate for him to find out there is a black and white version of a photograph that I actually prefer. Thank you both. Link to comment
rochelle_ballard 0 Posted September 8, 2004 I think I prefer I. The cloth adds femininity to the body and the bit of colour does work well with the general paleness of the picture. Cheers. Link to comment
dave_nitsche 0 Posted September 8, 2004 I am definitely a 'let the imagination run wild' kinda guy and generally find sexy lingerie infinitely more erotic so I have to go with the 'with' version David. Nice image none the less. Dave Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted September 8, 2004 I actually think the color version is far more effective than the black and white. The "mirage" effect washes out too much in b-and-white; the color gives a tone that is a source of depth. I'd like to see this photo with the original pose, which was more from the rear, without the cloth. I think the rear shot would show more curves of the buttocks, and that could add an interesting design element. Link to comment
lands 0 Posted September 8, 2004 Well if I had scrolled down I would of seen the B & W version before I grabbed it and did it myself. I personally like it in B & W better, but I like the color version as well, just not as much. :) Link to comment
g2imaging 0 Posted September 8, 2004 I vote B&W. It looks like a scene from Psycho is about to take place..... Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted September 9, 2004 Rochelle, I hear what you are saying and would not argue with you. Dave,'With the with.' That is an interesting part of a sentence. It sounds like a good title for a photograph. I'll see if I can come up with an idea. (Don't hold your breath.) Glad you like it for whatever reason. Mark,Your time in giving me your opinion is appreciated. As I said, I prefer the colour version of the 'with' and the b&w of the 'without.' John,The perfect answer! I do like it. As for a series, please ask any of your models if they are available and I would be happy to oblige. (Somehow I think I am dreaming.) L&S,It's good to know you like the both even though you prefer the colour one slightly. Gregory,'A scene from Psycho is about to take place....' I wont even try to think what is going on in your head. However, the model is still alive! Thank you all! Link to comment

advancedphoto 0 Posted September 10, 2004 This could easily hang on my bathroom wall. The pastel shading and fog are very pleasing. IMHO this version and in color is perfect. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted September 11, 2004 It's nice to know it is worthy of hanging somewhere. Link to comment
