Coho 2 Posted September 6, 2004 Detail of the Lady Washington, a three masted frigate (?) used in the filming of Pirates of the Carribean. This ship is used to train you people at risk in teamwork exercises. It is also the star of many Hollywood movies. It is based in Washington State. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted September 6, 2004 I like the subject and the colour layers a lot. Some of the peeled paint which gives out other colours and the sky behind the hole are also very pleasent, but I have some doubts about the composition. On one hand, I do not like it, since all the action is toward the left of the image, with the rope which (very nicely!) anchors all the picture. I dislike the empty right hand side. On the other hand, if I force myself to ignore the rope, and concentrate on the colour zones, the format becomes nice, with elongated rectangles for each of the colours... I think my problem is that both the rope and the rectangular format are here and I cannot make them do well together... Link to comment
Coho 2 Posted September 6, 2004 I see your point of view. For me, the rope brings me into the center of the photo and without the rope, it might be less interesting. Link to comment
anne_morgan 0 Posted September 8, 2004 David, I really admire how you can something like a hole and some rope and turn it into art! Link to comment
