salvatore.mele 1 Posted September 3, 2004 Taken on Bjornoya, Bear Island, in the middle of the Barents Sea, between Norway and Spitzbergen. A coal mine was active in this small island, now almost deserted (five people live in a meteo station), and was abandoned after WWII. The wind has reclaimed back many sheds and barracks, but some things stay up... It was completely absurd to land in so forgotten and isolated place, and find a rusted and rotten railway bringing coal to a cliff from which was put on ships. This is arctic county and it is hard to imagine the life condition of the miners. The place made me feel at the end of the world, although man had made the best to exploit this desolated rock... just for nature reclaiming part of his passage back. What does it make YOU feel? delp 0 Posted September 4, 2004 The same, Salvatore ... You have very well caught the loneliness and sadness, these feelings when finishing to read a book ... Well, as you may have noticed, I am never sure about frames anyway, but don't worry, this is just me wondering and trying to learn this weak point. Cheers ! Link to comment
