Soft focus and blurred images could be nice. Here however I don't see any added value in the application of these techniques.

I really like the effect you have produced here with the soft focus, especially with this mix of colors. I'm sorry for the digital artifacts, but I'm sure that the original is beautifully free of them.

Lannie, Ivan, and Ray--thanks for all of your comments. Ivan, I'd like a little less blur. This was taken with a funny lens called a lensbaby (flexible lens which allows you to control perspective/focus. It's hard to control and give unusual results.
