Sultry summer days turn into sudden thundershowers in

central/southern, just like they do through much of America.

Couldn't this photo be taken anywhere there are thunderstorms? Your

ratings and comments are most welcome. (Please support any harsh or

negative ratings with a helpful comment/Please share your superior

photographic knowledge to help advance my skills). Thanks and

Enjoy! John.

but a longer depth of field (hard I know, there's little light) could show more whater, or close around the umbrella could give more importance to the huge drops falling form it. just MHO :)

Roberta, this is a crop in any case, with other distracting elements, and I liked the overall composition, with the diagonal line from the street centerline, and the strong lines from the falling drops -- something seldom captured outside of movies. And I was unsure that huge cropping would be withstood by the medium. Thank you for your comment. (See the info -- Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine, in case you're still wondering).

Addendum: Stopping down for increased depth of field would have resulted in motion blur. John

It's Ukraine.

In Ukraine everybody recycles everything (as my Russian expert at the next computer tells me). Besides the colors of the umbrella ARE pretty and the colors ARE 'saturated'. ;-)).

And, when I am, say, in NYC during a rainstorm with gusts, the wind will take care of an umbrella in about five minutes or so, and I suppose the same thing holds true in the Ukraine too. What's the point of buying a fancy umbrella if it's going to get killed by the wind?

Thanks for the comment.

John
