I normally turn off to pet shots, but this is great. The framing and positioning works. Not to mention the vinagarette.. now how do you spell that word.. I presume you also used an artistic filter of some sort?

I think you've hit on something here. I love this high contrast stuff. This is wonderful. The eyes are so sharp! And the detail, wonderful! So are we having fun yet!!!!! LOL Nice job!

Perfect sharpness, perfect softness and blur, great contrast, but..... one thing that bothers me is the left ear. IMHO the photo should be cropped more carefully to include the entire ear or should be cropped to show that the choice was intended and not accidental

Cheers

Okay ... who invited him? (Just kidding, Pawel!!) Actually, I didn't notice the ear until he mentioned it, but now that I see it, it's a bit of a distraction. Intentional?

Anyway ... what I was GOING to say before I read the thread is pretty much what Mark Elford said. I am not at all into pet pictures ... but this is great. I love the effects that you used. The detail in the eyes (as noted) is great, and I think you've gotten quite a candid "expression" (do cat's even HAVE expressions?) Nice work!!

The portrait is beautiful Howard, as is the cat. Catchlight and sharpness are perfect. But I agree about the ear - noticed it straight off so call me miss picky. I wonder, if you didn't use the black border to point it out, whether it would be noticeable. Or you could use the same effect as the rest of the edge. And yes, LouAnn, cats do have expressions. They say "I'm the boss and you'll do as I say"

Congratulations, Howard! Great transformation. This is a great personalization of your work. It definitely has the feel of pencil drawing portrait. Looks like all the experimentations had paid off! Very well done.

This is very straightforward and beautifully done. Reminds me very much of a photo that was taken of my cat "Sam" by a professional photographer that had been in the business his lifetime. The photoshop techniques used here are very, very nice, and the overall image is quite good. My congratulations!
