She is continuously trimming a 100 square meter spinnaker. It's enough

to be absent-mindend and lose concentration for a second, and the

thing might burst, be torn off or worse. I think the hands do express

concentration and tension... or is it just biased-me to read it?

Your view of the scene is most welcome...

[p.s. The picture was taken with a borrowed small digicam, rather than

my usual FM2...]

Unfortunately I don't know a thing about sailing and wouldn't have "seen" the photo the same way. I do however think this photo has some commercial appeal. My humble opinion.

Hey Sal, I like this picture and is indeed commercially usable. Colours are a bit bland though, could use a tweak to improve red/blue contrast. There was music playing btw :).

Great photo.. I really like this one a lot. The composition is really powerful and the subject matter is also very gripping (no pun intended). Great shot all the way around 7/7

Here?s a quick story about racing in the Florida Keys. We were racing in an area called "Feather-Beds" in the Columbus Day Regatta and our mate working the chute was very inexperienced having moved up from working as a grinder/trimmer on the mainsail for a number of months. Anyway the wind shifted and instead of tightening the sail up, he let line out and opened the sail perpendicular to the wind. The next thing I saw was the ceiling of the cockpit of our Hobie 33' as our spreaders hit the water at 14 knots! It all happened to fast, too fast, and with an inexperienced crew it was a nightmare. Needless to say it could have been worse.. but it's something I will never forget.

Unusual and difficult crop but works very well... we are naturally attracted by the work on hands... I like sailing too but since I live in Japan I tend to appreciate local sport.. such as kuydo ('the way of the bow') and I have taken hands at work which reminded me a bit of yours...

and thanks for your interest in mine too...
