bens 0 Posted August 25, 2004 john, this is a great moment, captured nicely. yea, a little grainy, a little fuzzy, but that's what happens when you are in the real world. the lighting, the relationship of the kids to each other and the ball, the placement of the horizon, those wonderful hands, all well done. petejr 0 Posted August 25, 2004 John, while I think this will be a treasured family rememberance, photographically it's just average. What would have helped? A closer perspective. More flattering light. The pose of the kids is nice though, showing action and relationship nicely. Link to comment
brit p h o t o g r a p h y 0 Posted August 25, 2004 good stop motion! its a bit grainy and maybe crop so the focus is on the kids not the big sky. great job! Link to comment
John Crowe 165 Posted August 25, 2004 Thank-you very much for the great comments! The original is tack sharp. I lose a lot in the old film scanner that I have. The kids were playing around with the ball so I grabbed my superwide angle lens to see what sort of fun shots I could create with the beautiful blue sky as a backdrop. I shot it vertically anticipating that the ball would be way up in the clouds, but it did not happen so I cropped the top off and left the full width of the image. The square composition works well with the subjects' placement. Link to comment
