The contrast range is at the limit - but not broken (luck?, capability?, both?!). Particulary attractive I feel the last leaves on top and the fact that the dark part in front changes into colour! RE

Still a way off from this in New England, but I decided to rework some

images from last fall. Your comments are appreciated....

I will be in Maine mid Sept. ... hoping to catch a few colorful shots like this. Perhaps I will get lucky and it will be cool early this year...!

The leaves just don't get that bright down here in Dixie.

This is very nice, Linda, and it definitely makes me look forward to fall.

Regina, if you travel into the mountains of western North Carolina, you can reach the Canadian zone from about 4,000 feet on up. Even before that the trees will be northern hardwood, and there will be plenty of maple, beech, and other colorful trees that look just like northern woods. The color peak in that area is about mid-October.

The tree is magnificent in both color and form. I love the stream leading me right up to it. If you stand back and squint you have 3 definate diagonal lines. Orange, brown and green. However, I feel the brightness of the green grass in the lower left is competing with the orange, pulling me back from the tree. If you're not adverse to PS, I'd burn in the grass a little, leaving just a thin line of light along the stream edge, kind of like it is right below the bridge. But heck, that's just what I see in my mind. Lovely image no matter what.

Jayme...thanks for your thoughtful observations. I'll play around with it a bit more and see how it looks....

Very aesthetic fall colors, perfect composition. And I like the reflections very much here. The only thing I think about is the slight blue shade in the grass / on the leaves on the left side. Comes from the reflected sky light, I know. To touch that or not, not sure
