david robinson 0 Posted August 23, 2004 Eric your appreciation of pattern is finely tuned. The only improvement I would suggest is that whites in the central area are a bit harsh. Link to comment

pdoyle 0 Posted August 24, 2004 David put it well regarding your "sense of pattern" - I think you find fascinating photos where many others might see only the commonplace. Link to comment
root 0 Posted August 25, 2004 I'm often amused when people see strange things in images, but I have to say that I saw the cloud pattern as sand and the lines in the ice as contrails, so you've clearly printed this upside down. :-) Link to comment
carnelli 0 Posted August 25, 2004 Impressive scene that magnifies a sense of desolation. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted August 26, 2004 I think you blended two differently converted RAW`s for optimal tonality. You made an excellent job, I dare to say this is an image impossible to get with film in this light situation. Excellent the tonal range, detail, and perfect composition. Congrats, Carsten Link to comment
eric_fredine 0 Posted August 26, 2004 Thanks for the kind words everyone. Carsten - I actually blended two different exposures - one exposed for the sky and one exposed for the foreground. I prefer this technique to using graduated neutral density filters because it gives me much more control. Thanks, Eric Link to comment
david robinson 0 Posted August 26, 2004 Well done Eric. I'm very happy to see your work being appreciated. Your skills, technically and aesthetically, are substantive. As I have said before, your opinion and voice on landscapes are very important to us. Regards. Link to comment
