A pretty girl..... no doubt! That's the easy part. However, can you

see, charm, intelligence, kindness and many other nice traits in

this picture?

Hmmm, I'm not sure if I'm ready to admit such a range of meanings to this rather simple shot. Her cutoff hand is a problem for me compositionally. Otherwise it seems a nice, safe photo.

I can't argue with you. I like the cut off hand! I will admit you can't see all the qualities from the photo but perhaps.... just perhaps you can see some!

Thanks for looking!

I like the overall use of space, positive and negative. The black and white works well here as well. The missing hand is not my thing, David. She may be all that you say by the look here, but I don't know if she's crossing her fingers, flipping them, or pulling some guys by the necktie! Interesting, mate!

She is holding a photograph of you that I printed from your Bio!

I do appreciate your comments. I do like it when someone can look at a photo and see what I was trying to achieve. This was an exercise in the use of space and I felt I had pulled it of. However most people looking at this just see the pretty girl and get bored easily. There is another photo of this girl in my portfolio. Interestingly that attracted more attention. Could it be a clothes issue?

As always Wilson, thanks for your comments and your encouragement!

I think the black and white works very well in the picture. Does it exude the model's intelligence, kindness and charm? I believe this is open to the viewers' imagination and interpretation. I am not sure about the cut-off hand, but given her charming smile, I do not think this matters a lot!

I like the image. I have the tendency to lop off parts of the body all of the time so I don't have a problem with that aspect of the image. The model is beautiful and most likely someone I would like at once, were I to meet her. I think I would have moved her more to the right of the frame. I don't think the negative space over there works in this case but that is my opinion only which with three dollars will get you a pint of Guinness at my favorite pub here in Denver.

She is a winner and you should keep working with her.

Owen,

I was not going to post this image. However, not long before posting it, I met her again. She really is a genuinely nice person! I looked through the photos I had of her to see if there were any I could upload. This is the one I came up with. I am certain you would like her. You have more in common with her than me..... as I said, she is a med student.

$3 for a pint of Guiness. Is that a real pint or your 80% version in the USA?

Regards and thanks!

At this particular institution it is a real pint. I might add, however, that it is the only pub in town where that is the case.

...just don't forget to pick up an AmeriCAN in Seattle on the way to the Windy City! I'll back you up with couple more pints. ^_^

David, I like the image. The hand missing doesn't bother me at all. Sometimes it will, sometimes it won't. Here I see it as just a leading line to the face and not a 'player' in the image. The face being much 'grayer' than the background and arm is bothering to me. It doesn't allow my eye to stay on her face. I would burn the arm and dodge the face a bit, just to allow the face to stand out.

On an emotional note I see, happiness, joy and shyness. Not seeing the other arm really adds to the 'sheepish' nature of her pose. Nice image.

I find it difficult to believe that you have difficulty keeping your eyes on the face of this young girl. Oh well!

Your points 'may' be vaild. I say 'may' because to be honest with you Dave, I don't see the point about the 'grayness.' I am not sure if that is because I refuse to see it or not. I accept you see it and I trust your word.

I will look at your comment again (and again) in the hope I can see what you mean.

Thanks for looking and thanks for taking the time to comment!

Hey Dave...

By Grey I mean the difference in tonality between the face and the arm, that's all. Not really a big deal, just a thought more than anything else...

I was trying to not be the A-Typical male with my comment. Truth be told... well... ummmm... yeah, she's real hard not to look at!!!!!! LOL...
