I would be interested to know if you think something is missing from

this shot. I have tried various crops but just can't improve on this

untouched version.

David, I'd say go even further and crop off the left side (all the background and right eye,) and get a square crop. It'll be almost like an abstract (showing only the cropped face,) yes?

Wilson, call me strange if you want, but I love to keep the aspect ratio of all my photos the same....... even if I crop them.

 

So I can't do the square crop! Is there any hope for me?

I like it a lot, i would find it very difficult to improve this.

I like the idea of this but I am far from happy with the image. However, I posted it as it perplexes me. I was looking for reactions. Thanks for taking the time to look!

Well then, how about darken perimeter slightly, lighten the eye area, give colors and brightness to the eye, and crop a bit tighter so eye is further off to the right a bit? May or may not work. Your original is still good, my friend. ^_^
