Sin Sze Si Ya Temple situated in KL, Chinatown was founded in 1864 by Kapitan Yap Ah Loy. It is dedicated to the patron deities of Sin Sze Ya and Si Sze Ya. It is thought that through prayers in this temple guided Kapitan Yap to defeat the enemies and protect Kuala Lumpur during the civil war (1870-1873). Today it is one of the most revered temples in KL where the devoted pray for good fortune and health.

Appealing shot, rich detail, great colors and atmosphere. If it is a crop, I would like to have a tad more space for the candles on both sides. Regards, Carsten

Hi Alec, this is the best of the "Temple" images. I like the background lighting and the beautifully lit highlights of the subject matter in foreground. It is an exquisite image and I expect this is captured in just the mood/atmosphere that was intended to portray here.

Lighting is great here again. I love the subject and it is also with nice detail and effective composition. Pretty much well-done.

Thanks Matty, Kurt for your comments. I have been pretty busy lately with a new regional job and don't have time to download tons of images from my US trip. Hopefully I'll participate more when things settle down.
