If I may add ... the view from the Yardhouse Restaurant ... shot while we were waiting for our outside table, just 6 feet to the left of this picture! Nicely done!

Alec, this shot conveys a strong feeling of calm and peace. The ordered ranks of boats gives me a feeling of security. There is just enough light in this exposure to bring out some delightful colours in the background.

Yes Matty, the waters here are very calm, almost mirrorlike reflection. Would you believe I actually lowered the saturation by 10% because the colors were too strong? The model's red sweater and shoes were really glowing so I had to tone it down. Must be the Nikkor lenses.

Are you saying that Nikkor lenses are not so good? OK, I'm just kidding! Both Nikkor and Canon lenses are great, but most of their lenses ARE a little too contrasty IMO. That's why I am still attached to my Zeiss lenses!

 

This picture would not look quite so good without the couple there. You cannot help but think about what must be going through their minds ... and it is the same thing that is going through your mind ... life is great ... depending on which side of the fence you are on! ;)

Yeah, yeah, yeah. On the contrary, my Nikkor 18-70mm lenses is very good. Just look at the larger image and check out the details of the ropes for the sails. No smudging or obvious glow even after downsizing for PN.

 

So when is our next trip? Let's get over the fence to the good side. LOL!

Good is both relative and subjective. And I agree that there are some really good Nikkor and Canon lenses, and then there are the Zeiss and Leitz lenses ...

 

I thought we are already on the "right" side of the fence? You are trotting around the globe with a Nikon DSLR in your hands ... what more do you need in life? Our next trip? Yeah, let's plan a trip to the Shangri-la!
