WJT 619 Posted August 11, 2004 Stopping briefly before continuing north towards Yellowstone. It was a windy and somewhat cold afternoon, but the sun was warm and welcome. I would like to know if you find this an attractive scene. Comments regarding the composition are invited. I think this is best viewed in LARGER mode, if you have the time. Link to comment
francescomartini 0 Posted August 11, 2004 very beautiful this landscape!!! fantastic the sky!!! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 11, 2004 Walter, it is a nice composition. IMO the sky are too saturated and are a strong competition to the landscape, which is beautiful Pnina. Link to comment
david robinson 0 Posted August 11, 2004 I agree with Pnina. The sky is too saturated. BTW, I know exactly where was taken. Link to comment
tina_tango 0 Posted August 11, 2004 walter, lovely capture.. the sky is marvelous..tt Link to comment
gaspar_arroyo 0 Posted August 12, 2004 The composition is very fine I think. I see not a problem in the sky saturation, it is typical of polarizer and looks very good. Excellent feelings of depth perspective. Link to comment
WJT 619 Posted August 12, 2004 Well, I am now in somewhat of a quandry. For me, the sky turned out quite well in this, but then, I am a hopeless color addict. Obviously it is not acceptable to everyone. Nor would I expect it to be. Each of us has our own preferences, and each may be as valid as the next. I still value each of your visits! If I were to be critical of this photograph, I would say that I am not happy with the overall "cold" feeling of the color. Having shot this using print film, the final result will always be an intrepretation (unlike the WYSIWYG of reversal film). I did try considerable color balance efforts, but this was the closest to the scene as I remember it. Or rather, I should say this was the closest impression that I felt. Hey David, don't keep it a secret. I forgot exactly where this was. Regards. Link to comment
david robinson 0 Posted August 12, 2004 Walter if I am not mistaken this is at the northern boundary of the Tetons on the way up to Yellowstone. I certainly agree with your position. Preferences are purely subjective. This landscape works at many levels, and is very pleasing. regards Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted August 12, 2004 I really like this one. It is the yellow green of the landscape that contrasts so beautifully with the bluest of skies... Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted August 14, 2004 You're right ... larger is better (& bigger, too!) I love it!! I do not believe you had this one in your portfolio previously. Super!! Link to comment
stevemarcus 0 Posted August 14, 2004 Very nice landscape, Walter. The large version is impressive. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted August 14, 2004 Very beautiful scenery, and the colors are to my taste. And amazing detail. The only thing that doesn`t work for me is the green frame line, interferes too much with the colors, IMHO. Anyway, excellent landscape. Congrats, Carsten Link to comment
WJT 619 Posted August 14, 2004 Thank you Carsten for your visit! The room that I was considering for this has Hunter Green walls, so that is why I chose that border. Perhaps I should tone it down a little. Regards. Link to comment
gaetanchevalier 5 Posted August 17, 2004 Great light and colours. Sharp image with superb details. Link to comment
sucho04 0 Posted August 24, 2004 The sky color is very beautiful to me. Not the color of a reallistic sky but one of a painted dreamlike one. I like absolutely. But I would have accented the greenish yellow streak in the middle-ground to balance it. I am a color addict too ;-) Link to comment
paperfenix 0 Posted February 14, 2005 I?m so glad with your opinion Walter, know, It photo was just an exercise with Digital Phone Camera, you have reason about your comment.
