witolda_maruszewska 0 Posted August 10, 2004 I happened to be in the right place at the right time looking the right way - the primary objective of the motorsport photographer... I recorded the whole sequence of Michael Verger's roll at the exit of T3 but this one is my favourite. I was shooting from T4 hence the wall, and with a borrowed camera after the shutter failed on mine. Opinions, ratings and critiques welcome as always. Link to comment
john_stark 0 Posted August 10, 2004 Nice catch! I probably would have cropped the wall out a bit though. I know what you mean about borrowed equipment as my camea died a week before the indy 500, fortunately Canon got it fixed race morning! Link to comment
witolda_maruszewska 0 Posted August 11, 2004 It was pretty surreal - Verge looked pretty rattled when he climbed out of what was left of the car, but by lunchtime he was back in the West-Tec garage signing autographs for the fans! This shot (and several others from the sequence) appeared in last week's Autosport and Motorsport News. Guess the fee will help ease the pain of my camera going crunch... Link to comment
f1-fanatic 0 Posted August 12, 2004 Ouch! Nice shot here you really captured the action. I only wish the wall wasn't so dominant. Link to comment
witolda_maruszewska 0 Posted August 12, 2004 Agree with you, Norman. Not much choice in the matter though, because the crash happened at the exit of T3 and I was in T4. The start of the crash sequence is fine as it was up on the banking on the outside, but Mike's car was rolling straight towards the wall on the inside. Luck of the draw I guess, but better that than not getting the shot at all! :-) Link to comment
