"Lost Dreams" - A Fantasy in Smoke

I will be interested in reading your comments and, to a lesser degree,

seeing how you rate this.

 

I am most interested in your "gut" reaction. The production of a

photo like this is understandably outside the experience, and

interest, of most photographers. However, I am sure that most can

appreciate the work that goes into making the image, and more

importantly can relate on some level with the content.

Beautiful smoke...where did the colors come from?

The basic details of the technique used are in the Techincal Details area with the photo.

 

In a nutshell... they come from several colored gels over the single strobe.

When I first saw this, I thought of a group of people descending stairs. Then it looked like dancers leaping. I love your whole colored smoke series, the colors are so vivid, and the names are creative.

If you are interested in they gut feeling when I saw the image here it goes: great image, very very aesthetic, very beautiful. An image that is very original and perfectly executed ... I will remember it for a long time.

 

This idea of coloring with light the smoke is great and I would encourage you (if you have not done it) to exploit even further, maybe to make images that are not totally abstract and include objects with the smoke?
