davidmccracken 2 Posted August 6, 2004 I can't do anything about the scratches on the reflective pillar. Personally I like the DoF but I suspect it may be a problem for some. Your constructive comments and critiques are welcome. Ratings appreciated too! (I do have more photos of this girl!) Link to comment
rochelle_ballard 0 Posted August 6, 2004 This is good. She seems to know you but there is a certain amount of doubt in her face, at least in the reflection. Can you give me history on this photo? Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted August 6, 2004 I just uploaded this and it has 5 ratings and 2 comments already..... I wanted to add this B&W version for you all to have a look at! In my opinion the colour version is better for this particular photo but I have other photos of this girl where she suits B&W perfectly! Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted August 6, 2004 Thanks. I like this too. It was a chance meeting and I feel lucky that I have met her. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted August 6, 2004 You certainly do look at pictures. I feel the 'doubt' as you put it is created by the blur. This girl was full of charm and had character. Interestingly enough this was taken a few minutes after I met her. Maybe you see something in this that I don't. As I have said, I have taken more pictures of her and I am sure I will upload them soon! Thanks! Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted August 6, 2004 It's amazing that you came up with this idea after a night of shooting AmeriCANs! I like the color version better since you have some nice skin tone going. ^_^ Link to comment
owen_omeara 1 Posted August 7, 2004 David: I like this a great deal both in color and black and white. The DOF does not bother me in the least. I agree that you should feel lucky to have met her and I look forward to more work with her. The direction of her eyes directly at you is excellent. Hitchcock would have loved it. -Owen Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted August 7, 2004 Wilson, I would say that the idea 'hit me.' Coming up with anything after the 'ameriCAN' theme was quite difficult as I am sure you can imagine. She is such a delightful character and fun in front of the camera. Thanks. By the way, I think my next upload will be on a 'can' theme again. I am using empty cans now for the sake of my head. Owen, I was thinking of you when I uploaded the black and white version. Actually because of you, I now look at most of my pictures in black and white. In this case I prefer the colour version as it suits her 'colourful personality.' Thanks for your encouragement. Link to comment
owen_omeara 1 Posted August 7, 2004 David: The main thing is to do them the way you like them. My comments are my preference and you are the only one with a vote. If you tire of her as model send her across the pond to me. This is a great image, period. -Owen Link to comment
owen_omeara 1 Posted August 7, 2004 PS. Nude women are a much more etherial concept than beer cans. -Owen Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted August 7, 2004 Yes Owen......... but I see more empty beer cans than naked women! I will take your point to heart though! Link to comment
clauder 0 Posted August 9, 2004 Well I come back after some sort of break, and you post THIS!! David, this is the most maazing shot of your whole portfolio! Those pearcing eyes in the reflection... Just can't get enough of it! Can't wait for the next shot of that girl! Link to comment
clauder 0 Posted August 9, 2004 Still coming back to it... It almostlooks as if it is a composite of 2 images, the look seems so diffrent on the 2 faces... (not implying at all that it is a composite, just marvelling at the effect)! Yes, I am jealous of that shot :-) Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted August 9, 2004 This is not my favourite Claude but I was aware that it was quite good. I was also aware of the 'composite' feel about the picture. What she is looking into is a round reflective pillar. To the left is the street and to the right is the entrance driveway of a hotel. I am extremely flattered that you would be jealous of this shot. I will upload another shot of this girl soon. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted September 5, 2004 If you like it, I guess it must be good. Thanks for looking! Link to comment
varjag 0 Posted September 22, 2004 I really like the way the facial expressions of the girl and her reflection differ. Very good work! Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted September 22, 2004 Praise indeed Eugene. Thanks for looking. It is one of my favourite photographs. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 7, 2004 Great use of the miror/window for the reflections. Love it dear David. Biliana Link to comment
John Peri 1,028 Posted October 15, 2004 It's good you pointed me to this, I was away and missed it when you posted it. I must that say this is really good, especially with the miror image looking at the camera. Link to comment
