The main picture that is uploaded is taken straight from the camera. A wide aperture was used in an attempt to keep the unopened can in focus. I thought the effect might look better if I created this digitally using a small aperture and then using PS to achieve the blur. Maybe I will practice a bit more with PS. However I have uploaded the PS version for you to compare!

I prefer the straight from the camera version. How hard it must have been for you to leave that one poor beer full. ;)

Dave, I like the camera one better. I love using as much of the camera as possible. Don't get me wrong, I love PS, I stink at it, but love it, I just think that if it can be done in camera it should be tried. The camera's DOF is always so natural looking. This is a great image...

Thanks Dave. I do actually agree with you. The partially 'in focus can' to the right of the completely 'in focus can' is annoying me in this image though.

However, if someone like you likes it..... I will not argue. Thanks for looking.

Personally, I like the other version better. Throwing the focus on the single can raises the piece's concept to a more refined level.

Have you played with a LensBaby? This would be an excellent subject to try with that.

Chris, I think you are in the minority of people who prefer the other image. If we all liked the same images on this site, it would be fairly boring.

I have never used lens baby and have no idea what it is. Thanks again.

Love this one...

I had to take a second look. At first, I didn't notice that there was one un-opened can. I liked it when I first saw it. Upon my second viewing... I loved it.
