freddie 0 Posted July 27, 2004 Not sure exactly why this photo is so good, but it is. Colours superb, texture almost jumps out of the photo, looks really 3 dimensional. Congratulations Link to comment
Tuhin 2 Posted July 27, 2004 ..this is a much better upload by you ( and thats why I had pointed that dont upload in one go, upload one and try to read from the critique's ratings , as sincere comments are hard to come by ). The sharpness is just what it should be ( please mark that and keep this in mind next time you click ), the dof is perfect with the background blurred out. Over all , 6 for spotting an unique subject and 6 for aesthetics . Some might call this 5/5 but definitely not 4 and below . Well done.. Link to comment

rich_evans 0 Posted July 27, 2004 I like this because everytime I look, I see something different - I'm not sure how, but I think I would crop it differently, the out of focus area is slightly distracting, but overall I like it. --Rich Link to comment

carsten_ranke 0 Posted August 28, 2004 Very interesting, motif, I like this kind of shot, esp. the texture, and the shades of color. I agree that a tighter crop could be even more interesting, the blurred background is possibly a bit distracting. Link to comment

stupski 0 Posted July 19, 2009 I confess I too am drawn to this image, as it holds so much for the imagination. Seeing that you didn't seem to mind if we experiment with it, I took the liberty of applying my own vision to this one too. In Photoshop, I selected the blurred area on the left (a bit sloppy I was) and began to decrease the brightness until it approached the very dark area on the lower right hand corner of your photo. I played a bit with contrast to try and get some minimal highlights in there, and also played with darkening some of the highlights that seemed to pop out. Here's my contribution to your fascinating image. Darkening the left, as the right is darkened, seems to isolate the subject matter more and feels a bit less distracting. I'm sure you could do a neater/better job with this. Looks like you've found Lord of the Rings entrance to the underground! Link to comment
