I posted a candid shot of this stranger a few months ago and it did

not do very will for obvious reasons. This reposted version is my PN

learning curve version. I will post the original as well. What are

your thoughts?

I prefer it to the original, but the background doesn't look right to me. I can't really say why though - maybe it looks a little too painted in.

Howard, the gentleman in the orig. posting is a standout in the crowd, you saw this and captured the living person. The editing you have applied is top notch in my book. Perhaps some more light to define the left arm? You have enhanced the gentlman's apperance is now far more distinguished as is your image. Excellent work. I think the highlights are great, shoulders, cap and coat tails. Classic hue too. Top Stuff!

I realy like what you do with this gold/brown colors, it makes it much more interesting. It is a good way presenting this. Thanks for sharing, and we now understand what LOL means, okay.

Exceptional treatment of this image, Howard! Your learning curve is doing just fine. I'm currently working through an online photoshop course, and can't believe all that there is to know ... and this course only claims to scratch the surface. It'll be months and months before I can prepare an image in this way!! Good job!!

Your presentation is better executed than the original image. You master the brown tones that are going well with the types you show. Pnina

Your treatment to the original has elevated it much higher. The man stands out and the background doesn't compete. Very nice, Howard.

I like what you have done here, nice choice of tones. My only complain is the left side of his beard, it looks a little unnatural. Very detailed and time consuming effort for sure. Well worth the effort.

Howard, I think I missed this a few months back. I like his pose and the treatment. Perhaps decrease the saturation to give it more of a muted tone, and a more of a classic look.
