alecee 0 Posted July 22, 2004 Less is more......... a look at the clean crisp evening at Long Beach Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted July 22, 2004 How did you get theme to plant the trees in a straight line? You really did an excellent job on this one. The colors of the sky and water conbine to make this image pretty intense. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted July 22, 2004 Thanks everyone for the kind comments, Howard, to think it's a straight shot from the camera. And they said Long Beach is boring, dull and drap............ Try Shoreline Village which is near this lighthouse. Full of colors there. Love it. Link to comment
raywei 0 Posted July 23, 2004 A lot more in this case. Great composition, and sharp too. Link to comment

tan 0 Posted July 24, 2004 I have to admit that it came out better than I thought it would, but I am wondering if you should have waited for a boat to cruise along in the foreground ... say 1/3 into the frame from the right side. Link to comment
maria conversano 0 Posted July 24, 2004 Great effect creatid with the perfect simmetry. I love tis photo, Alec! Link to comment
jmontgomery 0 Posted July 24, 2004 Love the lighthouse and the trees and the reflections. I wonder if a little cropping on the top and bottom (maybe a panarama) would improve the composition even more? Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 24, 2004 Lovely catch Alec, simple yet sophisticated. This is one of the best reflections I've seen. The deep blue drops into the centre of frame.....great! I wish it were mine! Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted July 25, 2004 How wonderful to capture such an interesting subject in perfect reflection at the perfect time of day. Beautiful light. I don't know why, but my eyes suggest cropping a little off the left. I guess they are naturally drawn to the light house, but then there's just not much interesting to look at on it's left. Nice job! Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted July 25, 2004 Thanks everyone for the recent comments. B. Tan, you were there with me and the marina was absolutely still. How long do you want to wait for a boat to come along before the sun goes down? (",) Montgomery, I actually cropped quite a lot from the top and bottom already to get to this image. I think the space now is just right for my sub-title "Less is More". Don't you think so? Link to comment
