home page1 0 Posted July 22, 2004 Gorgeous shot. Great composition, subject matter, and clarity. Really like the detail in this one. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted July 22, 2004 Although summer is getting warmer here in the meadows just at the west entrance of Yosemite it really cold due to the higher elevation. We actually passed some scattered hailstorm earlier and the sky cleared for this neat shot. Hope you like it as much as I do. Link to comment
dennis jones 0 Posted July 22, 2004 !@#$%^&*()_!@#$%^&*()_!@#$%^&*()_Now, I got that out of my system. You really pushed my Yosemite button with this one. This is our favorite place in the park...AWESOME. Color, composition and exposure are tack sharp.....:-) Link to comment
ddamian 0 Posted July 22, 2004 Alec, you captured some very beautiful and delicate tones here. Specifically the underside of the fallen tree, the sky, the tip of the left ridge and the sheen of the water. I have been starring at this photo for a long time. Bravo! Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted July 23, 2004 Thanks everyone. Don't you just love the colors there? It's quite a long drive from Yosemite Valley but well worth it as Mono Lake is quite near here. Link to comment
dennis jones 0 Posted July 23, 2004 You really need to go back one of these days and hike North following the Toulumne River. Many cascades and falls that most folks don't see. Hope to go next spring. We've camped near this spot twice and really love the clear air and beautiful colors and scenes... Do watch for bears tho. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted July 23, 2004 Thanks Dennis. That's what Bob and I discussed after our trip. I have a big expandable tent and he has 2 air mattress so there's no excuse to do nature treks next time if our wives agree, heheheh. Perhaps we can plan to meet up? Link to comment

JohnMWright 1 Posted July 23, 2004 This reminds me of vacationing with my parents as a kid. We love this location. The color, lighting, details and composition are all superb. I hope you have this hanging on your wall at home. Link to comment
tan 0 Posted July 24, 2004 Good framing. Colors turned out well. I have not even checked to see how mine turned out! We visited too many places and shot too many images ... but wait a minute ... how can there ever be enough!!! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 24, 2004 Hey Alec, Yet another masterful capture. The fallen/decaying pines in the foreground really top it off. The remaining pine stage right - beautiful. A thusand words and more 7/7 Link to comment
jay_philbrick 0 Posted July 25, 2004 Awesome photo with fabulous colors and lighting. Beautiful composition as well. I have the same camera and lens. Any more specifics on how you shot and processed it? Again, great job. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted July 25, 2004 Thanks for those who drop by and commented, isn't it lovely there and cool too. Jay. The D70 performed better than I expected. Details as follow: F/18 1/30 sec, tripod with Manfrotto ballhead. Slight levels adjustments Link to comment
