I love the succession of arches in many streets of Siena. I have

tried to make an effect of woodcutting which enhance the texture of

the stones, and also the dazzling light comming from the end of the

street. What do you think of this ?

Hi Henri - I like the light effects, I'm ot sure about the wood cut. When I looked at the thumbnail I really liked the image - it looked like it has a gaussian blur and gave a rather mystical look to the small image. Great composition though.

I quite like the composition, but I agree with the previous poster, am not sure about the wood effect. But an otherwise nice composition.

This is an interesting effect Henri. The composition lends itself quite well to this. But I would remove the streewt signs along the left edge, possibly just by cloning them out. The dark blob in the lower right (a person walking or a bicycle?) is a little to dark and indistinct. Can you add any detail in that area? Overall I think that your woodcut impression is good. Regards.

Walter, this ghostly person you qualify of "blob", I like him as he is. Why add details ? One thing I like when I play with the different photoshop filters is that most of the time you don't know exactly what it will produce and it is something magic, you don't have all the control of the machine and you must accept what it makes. It is exactly like many years ago, when I made electronic music (for I am also a musician), I loved to be surprised by the fortuitous sounds of the electronic machines I used.

Henri, I am sure u won't get angry so let me say I don't like both the digital effect and the composition. I think you could get a better composition with one step on the left and a bit of zooming in order to eliminate both the signs on the left and the edge wall on the right.

Yes Michele, I agree with you, and with Walter and Dariusz who say the same thing about the signs on the left. About the right edge, I am less sure because the arches would seem hung in the emptyness.

Hi Henri. Please don't misunderstand me, the ghostly apparition is fine. My calling him a blob is simply my own poor choice of vocabulary. Regards.
