I have been trying for several years and finally got an insect in

flight (well a pair actually) that is worth sharing.

Great pic, this could be used in an ad !

I have tried this as well but never succeeded. I am not sure that I will continue trying after I have seen this shot :(

Just yesterday I got a very sharp hoverfly shot. Finally an improvement on my older somewhat blurry one, and I was VERY happy with it - until I saw this one. Really excellent!

Why do you need all those filters : Canon 500D, Kenko 20mm Extension Tube, Tamron 2X AF TeleConverter???

Billiana, I use the TCs, tubes, and 500D diopter to increase magnification as I like to go beyond life size (1x) that the canon 100mm is capable of. Adding a 2xTC gives me the ability to get to (2x) and the tubes and diopter let me get closer than the minimum focus distance of 6 inches increasing the magnification even more.
