james_watt 0 Posted July 16, 2004 OK, first of all, your model Sara is quite attractive, I would even go so far to say she is stunning. The photograph very well lit. I can't tell if the lighting is all natural or if reflectors, lights or anything else was used, and that's a good thing when the viewer doesn't notice. Excellent work! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 16, 2004 Really nicely done, Greg. If you don't mind me saying so, I think your portraiture is getting better everytime I check in your portfolio... Link to comment
g2imaging 0 Posted July 17, 2004 I don't like the sepia at all. It takes away the separation and the wonderful beauty of Sarah. The stairs are light red and the image was overexposed 1/3 as the scene is in open shade, thus bringing out the shaddow detail. Greg Link to comment
thomas_collins1 0 Posted July 17, 2004 I like this very much. Sara is beautiful and the pose and composition on the stairway is wonderful. I like the pink of the stairs as it adds a very feminine aspect to the beauty of Sara. I do question the color of her clothing as being the best choice against the stairs. I would have checked the ole' color wheel. I also like the idea of a duo-tone approach to this photo, but it does create a different feeling altogether. Well done! Link to comment
bens 0 Posted July 24, 2004 this is brilliant, and i think the reason it stands out in your portfolio is because it is not only technically proficient (all your stuff is -- colors are great, lighting thought about and well done), but because the model shows a pleasing, relaxed emotion, in this case a sly grin that shows warmth and humor. the more your subjects show a relaxed and pleasing emotion, the better. christos 0 Posted September 7, 2004 This is a better work than most other ones in this folder.. There is communication with the viewer which allows for emotional and thoughtful interaction.. The pose, expression and symmetry of the general frame do not simply catch the eye, they speak about the creator of the photo as well. It's not coincidental that as it seems you have searched within this subject something more than mainstream ideas of femininity or sexuality, although they latter are still present. Link to comment
