Jihad is not the answer

This is really a portrait, a political portrait. The woman, Vida Sam

is currently Miss Afganistan and has been chastized for showing

herself without a Berka.

 

Facinating and beautiful woman. Judge this as portraiture, or

photojournalism.

You have a good concept here but the light just didn't worked out. The lack of simmetry comes out to eye too, moastly on her dress.

I like the concept behind the image however two things niggle me with it. the first is in the lack of symmetry in with her pose/ dress and the other is more with the symbolisim of using what appear to be 2 japanese katanna to illustrate the theme of Jihad. But that is no doubt me being really picky.

 

She is against all Jihad.. she is Miss Afganhistan and she is in fact holding blades from Japan. Fact be known... she was uncomfortable with the political significance of this image which was a one shot quick pose.....
